Kwankwaso finally gives conditions to join APC

The National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP,Rabiu Kwankwaso, has set conditions for joining the All Progressives Congress,APC. Kwankwaso said there must be tangible benefits for NNPPmembers before he would agree to a merger or to join the APC. Speaking when he received Buhari Bakwana, a former politicaladviser to ex-Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, alongside APC members drawn from the44 local government areas of Kano State, at his Miller Road residence in Kano,Kwankwaso stressed that there must be strong assurances, insisting he would notallow himself to be used and dumped again. Kwankwaso, however, said he remained open to joining theAPC. He said: “If you are asking us to join APC, you must tell uswhat NNPP will gain. We have gubernatorial candidates in all the states andfull structures nationwide. What will you offer them if we join? “Eight years of APC under the immediate past PresidentMuhammadu Buhari gave us nothing, not even appreciation. In PDP, we asked forjust a zonal party chairman, but they refused. We left peacefully and today weare strong and have integrity. “We are ready to join APC under strong conditions andpromises. We will not allow anyone to use us and later dump us.”
