Nnadozie ranked fourth-best female goalkeeper in the world

Chiamaka Nnadozie has been voted the fourth-best goalkeeperin women’s football for the 2024/25 season. The Super Falcons goalkeeper was voted among the top fivefemale goalkeepers on Monday at the Ballon d’Or ceremony held at the Théâtre duChatelet in Paris, France. The 24-year-old finished behind Hannah Hampton of England,the winner of the prize, as well as Ann-Katrin Berger of Germany and Cata Collof Spain, who placed second and third, respectively. Nnadozie ranked ahead of only Daphne van Domselaar among thefive goalkeepers nominated for the prize. The 2025 Yachine award for women’s best goalkeeper is thefirst instalment of the prize. Nnadozie is also the first African to benominated for the award. Nnadozie was the goalkeeper for the Super Falcons of Nigeriaas the team won their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title inMorocco. She was named the best goalkeeper of the WAFCON tourneyafter keeping clean sheets in four of Nigeria’s six matches. She has been a consistent performer for the Falcons, winningthe CAF women’s goalkeeper of the year twice. Justine Madugu of the Super Falcons was also beaten to thewomen’s best coach prize by Sabrina Wiegman, who led England’s women to the2025 Euros triumph.
