The Lagos State Government has named popular content creator Ayomiposi Oluwadahunsi, widely known as Mandykiss, as an ambassador for the Lagos State Kicks Against Drug Abuse (LASKADA) initiative, redirecting her influence toward a cause that promotes societal good. The announcement, made by Commissioner for Youth and Social Development Mobolaji Ogunlende, follows Mandykiss’s public declaration to pursue a Guinness World Record in an endeavor deemed misaligned with Lagos’s values. In a statement on Tuesday, Ogunlende emphasized the government’s commitment to engaging and guiding youth with compassion. “A society thrives when it listens, engages, and redirects its future with purpose,” he said.Ogunlende revealed that he met with Mandykiss to discuss her initial plans, which sparked concern due to their divergence from societal standards. Through candid dialogue, the government assessed the situation and offered a constructive path forward. Recognizing her significant influence among young people, the administration chose to guide rather than dismiss her, prioritizing mental health and emotional wellness.Instead of pursuing the controversial record attempt, Mandykiss has embraced a transformative role as a LASKADA ambassador, joining the fight against drug abuse and substance misuse among Lagos youths. “Her journey reflects transformation rather than cancellation,” Ogunlende noted, highlighting the power of compassion and opportunity in redirecting potential for positive impact.
