Salihu Lukman, a former National Vice Chairman (North West) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has raised concerns about the African Democratic Congress (ADC), warning that internal power struggles could jeopardize the party’s prospects in the 2027 general elections. Speaking at a recent political event in Abuja, Lukman highlighted that factionalism and leadership disputes within the ADC are its greatest obstacles to becoming a formidable opposition force.Lukman, who recently joined the ADC after leaving the APC, emphasized the need for unity and strategic planning to challenge the ruling party effectively. He cautioned that without resolving internal conflicts, the ADC risks losing credibility and voter support. “The biggest threat to ADC’s growth is not external but internal. We must address these divisions to build a strong, united front,” he stated. He urged party leaders to prioritize reconciliation and focus on grassroots mobilization to strengthen the ADC’s national presence. Lukman also called for transparent primaries and inclusive decision-making to foster trust among members. The ADC, he noted, has the potential to offer Nigerians a viable alternative, but only if it overcomes its current challenges. The warning comes amid ongoing tensions within the ADC, with reports of rival factions vying for control ahead of the 2027 polls.
