Members of the Enugu state cabinet have joined the AllProgressives Congress (APC), ahead of the expected defection of Peter Mbah, thegovernor, to the ruling party. The defectors include Lawrence Ezeh, commissioner forinnovation, science and technology; Amaka Ngene, chairman of the science,technical, and vocational schools management board; and Felix Nnamani,commissioner for labour and employment. In a video shared on Monday by Dan Nwomeh, the governor’ssenior special assistant on media, the cabinet members were pictured together,proudly embracing their new political affiliation. “Enugu State Cabinet Members join the APC with full chestalong with Governor PN Mbah – from left to right, Commissioner for Innovation,Science and Technology, the Prince of Mburumbu, Dr. Lawrence Ezeh; Chairman ofthe Science, Technical, and Vocational Schools Management Board, Dr. Amaka S.Ngene; and Commissioner for Labour and Employment, Dr. Felix Nnamani,” Nwomehshared on X. Mbah, elected under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in2023, is expected to announce his defection to the APC, the ruling party at thefederal level, in the coming days. According to videos in circulation, the flag of the rulingparty has been hoisted at the Enugu government house in anticipation of Mbah’sdefection to the party.
