Lagos police launch investigation after X user accused hailing-app driver of staging robbery attacks on his passengers

The Lagos state police command has launched an investigation into a viral tweet from a lady accusing a hailing-app driver of staging a robbery attack on his passengers.In a post shared on social media, a lady with the handle @Big-Itohan had shared a screenshot showing the bio of a certain driver and called on people to avoid him.She alleged that during the course of commuting, the driver would claim his car suffered a mechanical fault and then park his car so other members of his gang would come to attack the unsuspecting passenger.Reacting to the post, the spokesperson of the command, SP Abimbola Adebisi, via her X handle, said the command is aware of the viral post and is inviting both parties for questioning.In a now viral audio, a man said to be the accused driver dismissed the claim. He said contrary to Itohan's claim, he did not plan to rob anyone. He mentioned that his car indeed broke down and that area boys came and took advantage of the situation demanding that he gives them money before he leaves. He said it was the lady who bargained with them and even transferred N5000 to them.
