The Obidient Movement on Friday disclosed that it has put inplace mechanisms and digital technologies to checkmate rigging and manipulationin the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election. It expressed its commitment to ensuring that the voice ofthe electorate in the election “is not stolen or silenced.” The national coordinator of the movement, Yunusa Tanko,disclosed this at the George Moghalu Campaign Office at Udoka Estate. He said: “We gather here today with a clear message ofreadiness, unity, and resolve from the Obidient Movement as Anambra Stateprepares for its forthcoming elections. “Let it be stated unequivocally that the Obidient family isfully on ground in every part of Anambra State. We have completed theinauguration of our Polling Unit Commanders across all polling units in thestate, totalling 5,720. From Awka, Awkuzu, to Nnewi, and through everycommunity, ward, and village, our grassroots structures are alive, active, andalert. “Our commitment is simple: to protect the mandate of thepeople and ensure that the voice of Anambra citizens is not stolen or silenced.Remember our GO MERD Campaign. “We have put in place robust mechanisms and digitaltechnologies to checkmate any attempt to rig or manipulate the electoralprocess. “The era when results were written in the back rooms isover. This generation of Nigerians, this generation of Obidients, will notallow the old order of electoral malpractice to thrive again.”
