Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State, on Friday,disclosed one of the reasons why he contested for governor in 2022. Soludo disclosed that the Okpoko area of Anambra State waspart of the major reason he contested for governorship. He disclosed this during the Ogbaru Constituency Campaignrally in Okpoko area of the state. According to Soludo: “Okpoko is one of the major reasons whyI contested to be governor of Anambra. From 2010 until 2022, I could not sleepwell seeing the way Okpoko was. “Seeing the way Okpoko was, the biggest urban slum in theSoutheast, if not Nigeria with over half a million people. “No water, no road, no street lights, nothing. I told youwhen I was campaigning that help was on the way. “I promised Ndi-Anambra that either the day of my swearingin or the day after I will resume work at Okpoko. “I was sworn in on the 17th and on the 18th I came here andwe came to this venue and today over 20 kilometers of streets, roads have beendone, street lights done, pipe borne water done, hospital for the first timenow in Okpoko. “Children are enjoying free education, that’s why we came. Ilove you more. I will come and take one room here.”
