Ned Nwoko, politician and husband of actress Regina Daniels, has denied reports claiming he has taken another wife. In a statement shared via his Instagram page on Saturday,Nwoko described the claims as “false” and “malicious”, adding that a videobeing circulated online was being twisted for clout. “A video recently brought to my attention shows a youngwoman who visited with her team under the Peace Ambassadors initiative, led byAmbassador Dr. Adejo Sule, and it is now being circulated online with falseclaims attempting to affiliate me with her,” Nwoko wrote. “It is unfortunate what social media has become, a spacewhere moments are easily twisted for clout and misinformation. “During the visit, photographs were taken with members ofthe delegation, as is customary whenever I receive guests.” The Delta North senator said it was “mischievous andmalicious” for anyone to exploit such gestures to fabricate false narratives. He insisted that he has no personal connection with thewoman in question. “Let me state clearly and unequivocally that the news beingpropagated around her visit is entirely false. I do not have any form ofpersonal or private connection with her,” he added. Nwoko also warned individuals and media outlets spreadingthe rumour to desist or face legal consequences. “Any further propagation of this false narrative willattract appropriate legal action. The Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015 remains in full force and applies to anyone involved in thedeliberate spread of falsehood or defamation in cyberspace,” he said. The senator’s statement comes amid controversy following aviral video of Regina accusing him of domestic violence.
