“Deranged and sociopathic megalomaniac”: Fani-Kayode slams Trump over threat to Nigeria

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has launched ascathing attack on US President Donald Trump over his recent commentsthreatening military action in Nigeria. In a post on X on Sunday, Fani-Kayode described Trump as a“deranged and sociopathic megalomaniac,” accusing him of hypocrisy and doublestandards in his approach to global conflicts. Recall that Trump had on Friday designatedNigeria as a country of particular concern. The US President cited what he described as ongoing violenceagainst Christians and the failure of the government to protect religiousminorities. However, the Nigerian government denied persecution of anyreligious groups in Nigeria. On Saturday, Trump also threatened military action againstNigeria. However, Fani-Kayode alleged that Trump had ignored theatrocities committed by what he called the “Israeli Zionist Nazis” and the“UAE-backed RSF butchers of Darfur” while falsely labelling Nigerians as“killers of Christians” and attempting to brand the country with genocideclaims. Fani-Kayode also cited a message from a friend who condemnedTrump’s remarks, describing them as “petulant and childish,” and calling onAfrican leaders to recognize that Western powers are “not our friends.” Reiterating his stance, the former minister warned that anyattempt by the US to invade Nigeria would be met with resistance, saying thedevelopment should serve as a wake-up call for Nigerians to value courageousand patriotic leadership. He said: “Imagine a deranged & sociopathic megalomaniac& tyrant, a recalcitrant and unrepentant schoolyard and dockside bully, anda cheap and shameless godless scumbag like @realDonaldTrumpthreatening our country with violence, military action, andinvasion. What a nerve! “Trump, a fascist & an associate of the globallyrecognized Hitler of the 21st century, @netanyahu, has refused to call theIsraeli Zionist Nazis and the UAE-backed RSF butchers of Darfur, Sudan massmurderers and genocidal maniacs but he is calling our people the “killers ofChristians” and is desperately trying to label our nation with the genocide tagand create a crisis in Nigeria. “Our Government must refuse to allow themselves to behoodwinked by the words of middle-ranking American Government officials who arenot members of the MAGA inner circle & who do not truly represent the veryhardline and extreme views of the right-wing Christian fundamentalist &anti-Muslim forces that Trump holds dear.”
