Suspected members of the Lakurawa sect launched a deadly assault on a Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) outpost in Maje, located in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.The armed bandits, arriving in large numbers, stormed the facility and opened fire indiscriminately, according to preliminary reports.Deputy Superintendent Sadiq Muhammad, a dedicated Customs officer, was killed in the line of duty while defending the outpost.The attack triggered widespread panic in the community, with residents fleeing into surrounding bushes for safety. Security forces were quickly deployed to restore order and pursue the fleeing assailants.The funeral prayer for the fallen officer was held at the Abdullahi Fodio Palace in Birnin Kebbi, attended by Governor Nasir Idris and other senior government officials.Confirming the incident, Salisu Tajuddeen, Public Relations Officer for the NCS Kebbi Area Command, stated that one officer lost his life in the attack. He added that investigations are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible.
