Ned Nwoko, senator representing Delta north, says his wifeactress Regina Daniels must undergo rehabilitation to address drug abuse andsafeguard her well-being. Speaking in an interview with NAN on Sunday, Nwoko said thedecision was necessary for the 25-year-old actress to be in the right state ofmind to raise their two children. The lawmaker said his stance followed a series of “alarming”toxicology reports indicating “high levels of harmful substances in Daniels’system”. According to Nwoko, his wife’s calm personality had changedin recent months, as she began exhibiting “violent and destructive behaviour”alongside recurring health crises. “I want her alive and healthy, not just for me, but for ourchildren,” he said. “We have two young kids together, and they cannot fight forthemselves, so I’m going to fight for them by safeguarding their mother. “Many people have died of drug overdose, and if anythinghappens to her now, what will I tell her children tomorrow? “I have lived with this problem for eight months, and onthree occasions, I had to carry her to Nizamiye Hospital unconscious from adrug overdose — you can go verify it.” Nwoko said he wanted Daniels to raise their children in “asane and healthy environment”, adding that rehabilitation would prevent herfrom accessing drugs while she completes her treatment. The senator also presented toxicology results of theactress, insisting that anyone discouraging her from seeking proper medicalcare was “her real enemy and that of her children”. He said the reports showed several substances with toxiclevels, dismissing recent statements by Regina’s mother and siblings on thedrug abuse allegations as “baseless distractions”. “That is why I am saying that everybody has to calm down andjoin hands to save her,” he said. “But she and her mother are living in denial. If they reallywant to prove me wrong, let them arrange for her to visit any toxicologist oftheir choice — I will pay.” Nwoko also alleged that Daniels’ close friends and siblings, particularly her brother Sammy influenced her and enabled her access to drugs. “Her close relations and friends that I trusted around herare the ones exploiting her resources to supply her with drugs, leaving heraddicted,” he said. “Imagine the pain of a husband trying to help his wiferecover from an addiction, only to have the process sabotaged by her siblingsand friends. Each time progress was made, they would undo it by smuggling inthe same drugs she was fighting to give up.” The senator criticised a recent social media post byDaniels’ mother Rita, alleging that his son died from a drug overdose in theUnited Kingdom, describing the claim as “an inhuman attack on the dead”. He said autopsy results did not show drug-relatedcomplications as the cause of death. The couple’s marital crisis has been ongoing since October, when a viral video showed Daniels in tears, accusing Nwoko of domesticviolence. The senator responded by alleging his wife was strugglingwith drug and alcohol addiction. Earlier today, Daniels admitted to using hard drugs butaccused Nwoko of orchestrating her addiction as part of a pattern of controland manipulation. She also alleged that the lawmaker is in possession of herprivate s#x tape.
