The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) hasdismissed reports that it plans to investigate Samuel Ojeogwu, the brother ofRegina Daniels, over drug-related allegations. The speculation arose amid a public and escalating feudbetween the actress and her husband Ned Nwoko. Last week, Daniels admitted to using hard drugs, but turnedthe accusation back on her husband, alleging he orchestrated her addiction aspart of a pattern of control and manipulation. The Nollywood star described her husband’scounter-accusation — that her family introduced her to drugs — as a “calculateddistraction” from her primary allegations of domestic violence andimprisonment. She accused the lawmaker of collaborating with his doctor tohave her injected with drugs meant for bipolar disorder, stating he preferredher more compliant and “sexier” while medicated. The politician, in turn, specifically pointed to Samuel, better known as Sammy West, as a “negative influence,” alleging that he enabledher access to drugs. However, when contacted by TheCable Lifestyle for comment,Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA’s director of media and advocacy, denied any ongoingor planned action by the agency. Responding to inquiries about the NDLEA’s plans concerningthe Daniels family drug matter, Babafemi stated simply: “no such thing”. Sammy, who was recently granted bail, was previouslydetained following a series of allegations, including criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying. The police in Abuja said he was accused alongside threeother suspects, and his arrest came after he allegedly ignored severalinvitations for questioning.
