Presidency to host national entrepreneurship dialogue December 4

The presidency has announced plans to hold a nationalentrepreneurship dialogue next month. The engagement, which comes amid a plethora of challenges,is tagged ‘Dear Entrepreneurs, We See You, We Hear You’. In a statement on Wednesday, the presidency said theinitiative, launched under President Bola Tinubu’s ‘renewed hope’ agenda, willhold on December 4, 2025. The presidency said the dialogue aims to bring togetherentrepreneurs from across Nigeria, ranging from micro and small business ownersto leading industrial and tech innovators, for an open dialogue with thegovernment. Speaking on the upcoming event, Chalya Maryam Shagaya,senior special assistant to the president on entrepreneurship development(communications, innovation and digital economy), described it as “a definingmoment to strengthen collaboration between government and the nation’s jobcreators”. She reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to building a1 trillion dollar economy driven by innovation, enterprise and inclusivegrowth. The presidential aide said her team had engaged withentrepreneurs across various sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing,technology, creative industries, fashion, renewable energy, education,insuretech, fintech, oil and gas, and innovation. According to Shagaya, the engagements revealed both theresilience and challenges within Nigeria’s entrepreneurial landscape, offeringkey insights that inspired the dialogue. “This administration has demonstrated an unwaveringcommitment to advancing entrepreneurship as a driver of nationaltransformation,” she said. “This dialogue is not just a conversation, it is a call toaction to refine, realign and reinforce the policies that empower Nigerians tobuild, innovate and create value.” The special assistant noted that Tinubu’s background as anentrepreneur and nation builder lends authenticity and significance to theinitiative. “Long before public office, his excellency demonstrated adeep understanding of how innovation and enterprise fuel prosperity. Hisleadership continues to inspire a new generation of business builders whobelieve in the promise of Nigeria,” she said. Shagaya restated her office’s commitment to ensuring thatthe dialogue reflects the government’s belief in the power of Nigerianentrepreneurs to build a more prosperous and resilient economy. According to the statement, the event will featureinteractive sessions between policymakers, business leaders, investors, andinnovators, giving participants the opportunity to share their experiences andpractical insights directly with government officials. Discussions are expected to focus on improving access tofinance, enhancing the ease of doing business, fostering industrial growth,driving digital innovation, and scaling creative and emerging enterprises. The presidency said the engagement will conclude with apresidential address by Tinubu, “reaffirming his administration’s commitment toinclusive growth, enterprise development, and achieving a $1 trillion economyunder the Renewed Hope Agenda”.
