Adamawa Police Nab Suspected Human Trafficker, Rescue Two Teenage Girls

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Hamza Hammantukur Isa, for allegedly trafficking young girls from the state to Ghana for sexual exploitation, marking a significant blow to human trafficking networks in the region.Isa, a resident of Bauchi Street in Yola North Local Government Area, was apprehended on November 12, 2025, by operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID) based on credible intelligence. Police Public Relations Officer Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje disclosed the arrest in a statement on Thursday, revealing that Isa lured victims with promises of lucrative jobs.During the operation, two female victims aged 18 and 19 were rescued unharmed. Preliminary investigations show Isa has been active since 2023 and confessed to trafficking at least 10 girls with the aid of two female accomplices, who remain at large.The command is intensifying efforts to apprehend the fugitives and identify more victims, vowing thorough prosecution. Commissioner of Police Dankombo Morris commended the SID team and reaffirmed the force’s dedication to protecting residents.
