Makun’s outburst, shared via his X account, was a directresponse to a wave of recent violent incidents he described as “alarming”. He pointed to a series of attacks that have shaken thecountry, including assaults on churches, the mass abduction of schoolchildrenin Kebbi state, and the killing of M. His comments came just hours after reports emerged that anunconfirmed number of worshippers were abducted during a Tuesday evening attackby bandits on a branch of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Oke Isegun,Eruku community, Kwara state. The church attack followed closely on the heels of anothermajor incident: the abduction of 25 schoolgirls from the Government GirlsComprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS) in Maga, located in theDanko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi state, which occurred on Monday.
