Usama Abdullahi, a 24-year-old convict, says he stolepacks of noodles for his three girlfriends, but none of them visited him inprison.According to Daily Trust, Abdullahi spoke before the Adamawastate jail delivery committee, a special mobile court constituted to reviewcertain cases with a view to decongesting correctional centres.The convict, who worked as a car wash employee in ShellengLGA of the state, said he ran away to another town after the offence before hiseventual arrest.He was then sentenced to two years’ imprisonment for thetheft at Shelleng Satellite Custodial Facility. “I stole Indomie and distributed it to my threegirlfriends,” he said.“Since I arrived at the facility, none of them paid me avisit. I promise to end the relationship with them once I gain my freedom.”In response to his plea, Hafsat Abdulrahman, chairperson ofthe committee, reviewed Abdullahi’s jail term and converted it to communityservice.
