Tinubu Constitutes Nigerian Team for US-Nigeria Joint Working Group on Security

President Bola Tinubu has approved the composition of Nigeria’s delegation to the newly established US-Nigeria Joint Working Group, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in addressing the country’s security challenges.The decision follows agreements reached during a recent high-level visit to Washington, DC, by a Nigerian delegation headed by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.Mallam Nuhu Ribadu will chair the Nigerian side of the Joint Working Group. He will be supported by the following senior officials:Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar – Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Badaru Abubakar – Minister of Defence Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo – Minister of Interior Dr. Bernard M. Doro – Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation General Olufemi Oluyede – Chief of Defence Staff Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed – Director-General, National Intelligence Agency Kayode Egbetokun – Inspector-General of Police Ms. Idayat Hassan from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and Mr. Paul Alabi from the Nigerian Embassy in the United States will serve as the secretariat for the group.In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu directed the members to collaborate closely and diligently with their American counterparts to ensure the swift and effective implementation of all agreed initiatives across various sectors.
