Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Bauchi State to attend the funeral rites of the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, one of Nigeria’s most prominent and respected Islamic scholars and leader of the Tijjaniyya Islamic Movement.The Vice President is leading a high-powered federal government delegation on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pay last respects to the revered cleric, who passed away at the age of 101 after a lifetime dedicated to Islamic scholarship, spiritual leadership, and the promotion of peace and moral values.Accompanying Vice President Shettima are:National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Senator Shehu Buba Umar Senior presidential aides including Special Adviser Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar and Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, among others. During the visit, the Vice President will offer condolences to the deceased’s family, the global Tijjaniyya Islamic Movement, and the Muslim Ummah, while praying for the repose of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s soul and divine comfort for all those grieving his passage.Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi was widely revered for his deep knowledge of Islam, humility, and decades of mentorship that influenced millions of followers within and outside Nigeria.
