APPLY: US launches skit contest to highlight influence of American brands in Nigeria

The United States Mission in Nigeria has launched a socialmedia skit contest aimed at spotlighting the positive impact of American brandsand products in Nigeria.In a statement on Tuesday, the mission revealed that thecontest tagged ‘Made in America, Loved in Nigeria Social Media Skit’ reflectsits commitment to supporting Nigeria’s creative sector, strengthening culturalties, and celebrating the ingenuity of young Nigerians.The contest requires Nigerian creatives to produce 90-secondvertical skits that showcase how American innovations, products, and cultureinfluence daily life, productivity, and community development.Entry videos are to be posted publicly on social mediaplatforms with the tag @USinNigeria and the hashtags#MadeInAmericaLovedInNigeria and #TradeThatTransforms.According to the mission, submissions will undergopre-screening to ensure compliance with contest rules and will be judged oncreativity, relevance to the theme, storytelling, technical quality, andaudience engagement.Submissions open on December 1 and close on December 8,while winners will be announced on December 12.Top entries will receive creative media equipment includingthe Sony A7 IV creative bundle, Sony A7 III, and iPhone 16 with a handheldgimbal, alongside mentorship opportunities and features on U.S. MissionNigeria’s social media platforms.Eligibility criteria Must be a Nigerian citizen aged 18 to 45 residing in Nigeria Must submit only original content Must complete the official entry form Must upload a signed eligibility and release formParticipants can visit the link for details and alsoapply for the contest.
