Tinubu Appoints Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (Rtd) as Non-Career Ambassador

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (Rtd), former Chief of Army Staff and immediate past Minister of Interior, as a non-career Ambassador-designate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.The appointment was contained in a statement released by the Presidency on Wednesday.Gen. Dambazau, who served as Chief of Army Staff from 2008 to 2010 under President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and later as Minister of Interior from 2015 to 2019 during President Muhammadu Buhari’s first term, brings decades of distinguished military and public service experience to his new diplomatic role.The retired general is expected to be deployed to one of Nigeria’s foreign missions after Senate confirmation and completion of formalities.This appointment is part of President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to harness experienced Nigerians for national service across various sectors.
