Popular TikTok content creator and livestreamer, HamzatHabeeb, widely known as Peller, has sparked outrage and concern after crashinghis car during a live broadcast on Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos. The incident, which occurred during a livestream onInstagram he titled “RIP Peller” on Sunday, that has since circulated widely onsocial media, showed the influencer driving alone in his newly acquiredMercedes-Benz while visibly distressed. In the video, Peller was seen crying and speakingemotionally during a phone conversation believed to be with his girlfriend,Jarvis, amid rumours of a possible breakup. At several points in the livestream, he appeared agitatedand made alarming statements, saying, “I will use this car and have an accidentright now,” and later, “I’m scared. I’m scared.” During the livestream, Peller made several disturbingstatements that alarmed viewers. In one moment, he could be heard saying, “Ifyou break up with me, people will be mocking me, they will be mocking me, theywill be mocking me, they will be, they will be mocking me, they will not... Thankyou, I’m going to kill myself.” Moments later, the streamer was seen driving into anotherpart of the road before deliberately ramming the vehicle into a stone, causinga crash. The incident has triggered widespread reactions acrosssocial media, with many users expressing concern over the act and calling onauthorities to intervene. Several netizens urged the Federal Road Safety Corps toinvestigate the incident, noting that the action endangered not only thecontent creator’s life but also other road users. While some viewers claimed the incident may have been stagedfor content, others insisted there should be consequences for what theydescribed as reckless and dangerous behaviour during a live broadcast. As of press time, neither Peller nor relevant authoritieshad issued an official statement on the incident.
