Troops from Sub-Sector 3B of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have successfully rescued a woman abducted in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.According to security sources, the rescue occurred during a swift search-and-rescue mission on Friday, December 13, 2025.The troops, stationed at Kufai Amadu in Takum LGA, received intelligence around 1:13 p.m. about a kidnapping in Torikegha village, Chanchanji Ward.Upon arriving at the scene, soldiers learned that the victim, Mrs. Iloda Ayinba, a resident of Torikegha, had been seized by suspected herdsmen while heading to her farm. The assailants were reportedly relocating from the area.The troops immediately pursued the kidnappers along their escape route and conducted thorough combing operations in the surrounding bush, extending to the power line corridor along the Taraba-Benue border.Faced with the aggressive pursuit, the abductors abandoned the victim in the bush and fled. Mrs. Ayinba was subsequently located and rescued unharmed.No contact was made with the suspects during the operation, and the rescued woman has been reunited with her family.The successful rescue highlights the responsiveness of OPWS forces in tackling insecurity in the region.
