A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain from Kano State, Alwan Hassan, has ignited controversy by declaring that 95% of the ministers who served under the late former President Muhammadu Buhari should be in prison for alleged widespread corruption.Speaking on Channels Television's Politics Today programme, Hassan accused the Buhari administration (2015-2023) of granting ministers unprecedented autonomy, leading to a "free-for-all" environment with little presidential oversight."There has never been a time when ministers got free hands without supervision like Buhari’s eight years in office," Hassan said. "Government budgets were 100 per cent released without interference... 95 per cent of the ministers under Buhari should be in jail by now."Alwan Hassan, the APC chieftain making the claims on Channels TV.He claimed Buhari himself appeared aware of potential misconduct, once advising ministers to "keep their documents ready" for future accountability.Hassan acknowledged that a small percentage of officials were not involved in wrongdoing but insisted the era was marked by rampant abuse of power.
