Posters bearing the image of former Minister ofTransportation Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi have surfaced across major streets inKaduna, fuelling speculation about early political manoeuvring ahead of the2027 presidential election. The posters, which prominently display Amaechi’s portrait,describe him as “the only person to be trusted” and “the only man for the job”,with accompanying messages centred on unity, equality, stability anddevelopment. Amaechi, who holds the traditional title of Dan Amanan KasarHausa of Daura, has previously served as Speaker of the Rivers State House ofAssembly, Governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation. Residents reported that the posters appeared at keylocations across the Kaduna metropolis, including Ahmadu Bello Way, Ali AkiluWay, areas around the Kaduna State Government House and the Kawo Bridge axisleading towards Zaria. The displays attracted noticeable attention, with motoristsand pedestrians slowing to view them, particularly around Kawo Bridge, whereearly-morning traffic experienced brief disruptions. Although Amaechi has yet to make any formal declaration, theemergence of the posters has heightened speculation about a possible return tothe presidential race. He contested the All Progressives Congress presidentialprimary in 2022, finishing second behind President Bola Tinubu.
