The Lagos State Police Command has summoned Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, to appear at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti on Monday, January 5, 2026.The invitation follows multiple allegations of rape, other sexual offences, and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace levelled against the cleric.In a statement issued on Sunday by Police Public Relations Officer SP Abimbola Adebisi, Commissioner of Police CP Olohundare Jimoh directed the Deputy Commissioner in charge of SCID to conduct a thorough and discreet investigation into the serious criminal complaints.Pastor Okafor has been formally served with an invitation letter through his legal representative and is expected to honour the summons and cooperate fully with investigators.The command assured full security and protection for all victims, urging them to come forward without fear to provide statements at SCID Panti. It emphasised that victims' identities will be kept strictly confidential.Members of the public with credible information or evidence related to the case have also been encouraged to assist the police by contacting the SCID directly or through the Police Public Relations Department.The Lagos State Police Command reiterated its commitment to upholding law and order, ensuring thorough investigation of all criminal allegations regardless of the status of the accused, and guaranteeing that justice prevails.
