Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede has paid courtesy visits to former Heads of State Gen. Ibrahim Babangida and Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, as well as Niger State Government officials, pledging deeper civil-military cooperation to bolster Nigeria's security framework.The Tuesday engagements in Minna highlighted the Army's drive for operational excellence and partnerships with leaders to confront evolving threats.Oluyede briefed attendees on nationwide training exercises aimed at enhancing troop readiness, identifying gaps, and informing potential reinforcements or new formations.He highlighted Niger State's strategic significance due to its vast terrain and location, noting personal and institutional ties: "Niger State holds a special place in our history, It is, in many ways, regarded as home."The COAS also reported recent assessments of brigades in Bida to address local security concerns and ensure swift responses.Babangida and Abdulsalami praised Oluyede's leadership and professionalism, offering prayers for success and urging focus on training, discipline, and troop welfare.
