Nigerian troops and suspected terrorists exchanged gunfireat Obajana Town, where Africa’s largest cement plant, Dangote Cement, with16.25 million metric tonnes per annum (Mta), is located in Kogi State, Nigeria. According to a security analyst, Zagazola Makama, on Sundaythrough X, the exchange took place on Saturday night. According to him, the troops engaged the terrorists whoattempted to infiltrate the community. “There was an exchange of gunfire between Nigerian troopsand suspected terrorists in Obajana town, Kogi State, on Saturday night, assecurity forces sustained ongoing clearance operations in the area. “Troops are engaging the terrorists who were reportedlyattempting to infiltrate the community,” he wrote on X. Meanwhile, the Defense Headquarters is yet to officiallyspeak on the incident as of the time of filing this report. Recall that scores died as a joint operation between theNigeria police and the military flushed out terrorists from Kogi forest.
