The Association of Meter Manufacturers of Nigeria (AMMON) has strongly criticized the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) for awarding electricity meter supply contracts worth over $100 million (approximately ₦160 billion) to two Chinese companies, sidelining local manufacturers. According to AMMON, the contracts, funded through a World Bank loan, involve the supply of 1.25 million meters.
