Osas Ighodaro, the Nigerian actress, has recounted howan ex-lover cheated on her while she was based in America. In an interview on the Lone Wolf podcast, the film star described the experience as “devastating,” saying she hadpictured spending forever with her then-boyfriend.She explained that she drove to Baltimore to surprise him, only to discover another woman who was pregnant in his room, and was forced outby security after confronting him.She said the betrayal completely shattered her, leaving herheartbroken and realising that he, or perhaps God, had other plans for theirrelationship. “After getting a new car, I drove all the way to Baltimoreto surprise my then-boyfriend. I stood at his door for about five minuteswaiting for him to answer. Five minutes might not seem long, but in thatmoment, it felt like forever. He finally opened the door, and I said, ‘Whattook you so long? Surprise! Aren’t you happy to see me?’” she said.“His response was, ‘Why didn’t you say you were coming?’ Ithought he’d be happy that I drove all the way to see him, especially since Ihad just bought this car. I tried to go to his room, but the door was locked. Iasked why, and he said he had a friend there. I told him to come out, and hesaid it was a girl, not a guy.“I asked why he had a girl in his room, and he told me tosit down.” The film star disclosed that the situation quickly escalatedwhen he called security personnel to escort her out of the house.“I started shouting. At that point, he called the complexsecurity to escort me out, telling me he didn’t want me to get in trouble forfighting a pregnant woman,” she said.“My whole world collapsed. I’ve always been a lover, someonewho puts my all into relationships. This was devastating for me.“It was young love, someone, I thought I wanted to spend therest of my life with, but clearly, he, or maybe God, had other plans.” The actress said she now sees the situation as a blessing, realising that moving to Baltimore wouldn’t align with her bigger dreams.“I finally see it as a blessing because we were alreadyhaving conversations and moving to Baltimore to live our lives,” she added.“I always knew that wasn’t going to be enough for me. Mydreams are global and big, and moving to Baltimore wouldn’t help me achievethem. I needed to be in New York, around creatives, for this to happen.“Eventually, I saw it as a blessing. You were about to gointo a normal life, but the creative life isn’t normal. I knew that wasn’t whatI wanted, so even though it was devastating at the time, it was ultimately ablessing.” Ighodaro married Nigerian actor Gbenro Ajibade in 2015 aftermeeting on the set of Tinsel. The couple divorced in 2019. They share onedaughter, Azariah.
