Tinubu holds high level APC meeting at Presidential Villa

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday met with keystakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the PresidentialVilla in Abuja to review preparations for the party’s forthcoming conventionand congresses. The meeting brought together members of the APC’s nationalleadership, governors, and the party’s caucus in the National Assembly. Those in attendance included the President of the Senate,Godswill Akpabio; Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) and Governorof Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; Chairman of the Progressive GovernorsForum (PGF) and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma; Deputy President of theSenate, Barau Jibrin; Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Prof.Julius Ihonvbere; Chief Whip of the House, Usman Bello Kumo; Chief of Staff tothe President, Femi Gbajabiamila; and APC National Secretary, Senator AjibolaBashiru. Speaking after the meeting, APC National Chairman, ProfessorNentawe Yilwatda, described the engagement as a brief but productive sessionfocused on aligning the party’s preparations and ensuring cohesion among allarms of government. According to him, the discussions centred on strengtheningsynergy between the national leadership, sub-national governments, the NationalAssembly, and the party structure ahead of the convention and congresses. “It was a brief meeting to review our preparations for theconvention and congresses and to strengthen synergy between all arms ofgovernment. “We want everyone the national, sub-national, and theNational Assembly to be on the same page, and I believe we achieved ourobjectives,” Yilwatda said. He noted that the APC was undergoing rapid expansion withthe influx of new members, governors and lawmakers, stressing the need forinclusivity as the party continues to grow. “The party is expanding every day. We are growing beyondbounds, and we want to ensure that in the course of this growth, nobody is leftbehind,” he added. Yilwatda also praised President Tinubu’s leadership,describing him as a highly experienced politician whose guidance wasinstrumental to the party’s growth and strategic direction. “Mr President is a very experienced politician. His advicewas remarkable, and his depth of knowledge of the political cycle continues todrive the expansion and strength of the party,” he said.
