Immediate past Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, hassaid that his successor and incumbent governor, Uba Sani, is not his godson. El-Rufai made this known on Monday in an interview on TrustTV, adding that he does not care about his successor. He said, “Governor Uba Sani is not my godson. I don’t careabout my successor. “I’ve not called Uba Sani since I left office as governor. Ihave no relationship with him. “I’m not interested in being a godfather. I have neverbelieved in godfatherism. Never. I have been outspoken opponent of it. “I didn’t go to Lagos and answer questions aboutgodfatherism that led to attacks from the nation. “The Tinubu’s wolves went after me because they thought Iwas talking about him. But I was talking about a principle. When you havepower, exercise it for public good and when you are done, leave.” Recall that El-Rufai, a founding member of the ruling AllProgressives Congress, APC, fell out with President Bola Tinubu afterministerial appointment in 2023. The former governor early 2025 dumped the APC for the SocialDemocratic Party, SDP, and later aligned with the African Democratic Congress,ADC.
