President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Abagun Kole Omololu,the national organising secretary of Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-politicalorganisation, on his 70th birthday. In a statement issued on Monday by Bayo Onanuga,presidential spokesperson, Tinubu described Omololu as a man of integrity,loyalty and unwavering commitment to nation-building and the preservation ofYoruba cultural heritage. Tinubu highlighted Omololu’s decades-long role in thestruggle for democracy and good governance in Nigeria. “He was part of NADECO Abroad, which took the battle for thesanctity of June 12 and termination of military rule in Nigeria to theinternational community. Also, to date, Abagun remains a prominent member ofIdile Odua,” the statement reads. “As a leader in Afenifere, his principled position on issuesand steadfast support for Baba Fasoranti’s leadership are particularlynoteworthy.” He acknowledged Omololu’s well-known support for hisadministration and the renewed hope agenda. President Tinubu prayed for long life, continued goodhealth, divine grace and wisdom for Omololu as he enters the biblical age ofthree scores and 10.
