President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Senator Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, on his unanimous election as the new Chairperson of the Governing Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).The election occurred on Tuesday during the 49th session of the IFAD Governing Council in Rome, where the council serves as the organization's highest decision-making body.In a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu described the appointment as a strong endorsement of Senator Kyari’s leadership and the transformative reforms he is implementing in Nigeria’s agriculture and food security sectors.The President expressed confidence that Kyari would provide effective leadership to IFAD, strengthening its global impact amid ongoing worldwide food security challenges.President Tinubu wished Senator Kyari a successful and impactful tenure in his new role.
