“If They Don’t Count It, We Count the Person,” Peter Obi Warns Ahead of 2027 Elections

Former presidential candidate and chieftain of the AfricanDemocratic Congress, ADC, Peter Obi, has declared that voters must remainvigilant in protecting their ballots during the 2027 general elections, warningagainst any attempt to manipulate results at polling units. Mr. Obi was in Akwa Ibom State as the Akwa Ibom StateObIdient Movement officially joined the ADC. Speaking on Saturday during the event, Obi stressed theimportance of electoral integrity and citizen participation. “In that polling booth in 2027, if they don’t count it, wecount the person,” Obi said. Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has announced the timetable for the 2027 general elections. According to the schedule, the presidential and NationalAssembly elections will hold on February 20, 2027, while the governorship andState House of Assembly elections are set for March 6, 2027.
