VIDEO: Nigerians react to video of APC member spraying naira during Tinubu’s Adamawa visit

A video showing a woman spraying naira notes duringPresident Bola Tinubu’s visit to Adamawa State has sparked widespread outrageon social media, with many Nigerians accusing authorities of selectiveenforcement of laws against currency mutilation. The incident occurred as popular Hausa musician Dauda KahutuRarara performed his latest song, ‘Omo Ologo’ (Child of Glory), in honour ofthe President. In the circulating video, a yet-to-be-identified womandressed in All Progressives Congress, APC, attire approached the stage andsprayed naira notes while the performance was ongoing. She was later cautioned by another woman standing nearby,but the brief act quickly drew attention online after clips of the momentspread across social media platforms. Several users on X criticised what they described as unequalapplication of the law. One user @Clement C Mbanugo wrote: “I blame Nigerians forthe arrogance of EFCC bandits. If those idiots come to arrest anybody in yourarea, make sure they don’t go back with their complete teeth.” @Nigeria is my only country, said: “The law is meant foronly the people that are not supporting APC. Mtcheeeew.” @King Dave 3 commented: “It’s only in Nigeria spraying moneyis a crime, but you’re free to spray in front of President Tinubu. Everythingis fine if you’re APC member.” Other users also reacted. @CRT ekeh posted: “Dem no go seethis one o,” @CHUKWUEBUKA added: “The law no be for everybody.” Some commenters compared the incident to previous caseswhere individuals were reportedly arrested or prosecuted over naira abuse. @PETER OBI’s TRUMPETER claimed that while the woman was onlycautioned, others had faced harsher consequences for similar acts. @Emmanuel Benjamin argued that the reaction might have beendifferent if supporters of opposition figures were involved, while @BIGI simplysaid: “Make them go arrest am nah.”Video of a woman spraying money infront of President Tinubu has now sparked conversation...
