Bayelsa State has a new deputy governor following the nomination and approval of Pastor (Hon) Peter Pereotubo Akpe. Governor Douye Diri announced the nomination of Akpe, who currently serves as Chief of Staff at the Government House, to fill the vacancy left by the late Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who passed away on December 11, 2025.
