Attack on Peter Obi in Edo Was ‘Clear Assassination Attempt’ - Yunusa Tanko

The National Coordinator of Obidient Movement Worldwide,Yunusa Tanko, has described the attack on former Labour Party presidentialcandidate, Peter Obi, and others as a clear assassination attempt. Tanko made this statement on Wednesday on ‘Sunrise Daily’, aprogramme on Channels Television. He was recounting the attack on Obi and chieftains of theAfrican Democratic Congress, ADC, at the Benin City residence of former AllProgressives Congress, APC,National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun. “It’s clear to me that it was just an attempt atassassination because they followed us down to Oyegun’s house at GRA in Benin. “After a prior engagement, we proceeded to Chief’s house.There, we learned the event schedule and subsequently moved to the venue, athree-story building. “Although we successfully concluded our programme withoutincident, five minutes after our departure, attacks occurred at the venue. “Footage showed significant damage. We then returned toChief Oyegun’s house, where, despite expectations of heavy security, all of asudden we started hearing gunshots.”
