The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Tunji Disu, has urgedthe Nigerian government to provide the force with equipment that would help inensuring that citizens are secured. Disu also urged the Nigerian government to improve thewelfare of police officers. He made the appeal while fielding questions from journalistsat the Presidential Villa in Abuja. According to Disu: “What I want everyone to expect from meas the IGP and the police force is that we will ensure our work is doneproperly. “I also implore the government to take care and provideequipment for men of the police force, as this serves as an encouragement tous.” President Bola Tinubu recently appointed Disu as IGPfollowing the resignation of his predecessor, Kayode Egbetokun. Upon his appointment and confirmation by the Nigerian PoliceCouncil, Disu was sworn in today.
