Angélique Kidjo announces new album — featuring Davido, Ayra Starr, The Cavemen

Angélique Kidjo, the Grammy-winning Beninese singer, hasunveiled details of her highly anticipated upcoming album ‘Hope’. The five-time Grammy winner took to social media onWednesday to announce the project, revealing that the 14-track album is theculmination of five years of dedicated work and arrives on April 24. The project holds deep personal significance for Kidjo, asit is dedicated to her late mother Yvonne who passed away five years ago. In the new album, Kidjo enlisted a powerhouse lineup ofNigerian music stars including Davido, Ayra Starr and music duo The Cavemen. “5 years in the making 🧡 : my new album HOPE!!dedicated to my mother Yvonne is coming out on April 24th. She is the one whotaught me that every dream I had could be accomplished, that HOPE for a betterfuture is what makes us human. The album also featured French artistes Florent Pagny andDadju, Congolese star Fally Ipupa, Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz, Braziliansinger Iza, and renowned musician PJ Morton. The Soweto Gospel Choir also featured on the project. The collaboration marks a continuation of the strong musicalrelationship between Kidjo and Davido. The pair previously worked together on Kidjo’s 2024 track‘Joy,’ and Davido later featured the legendary singer on ‘Na Money,’ a standoutrecord from his acclaimed ‘Timeless’ album.
