Armed bandits, reportedly disguised in women’s hijabs, attacked Mallamawar Yari village in Gawakuke ward of Rabah Local GovernmentArea in Sokoto State on Saturday night, leaving several residents dead andothers abducted.The incident was disclosed in a post shared on Sunday bysecurity analyst Bakatsine on X. According to the post, the bandits attacked the village atnight and carried out a massive assault while they were dressed in women’shijabs, which allegedly helped them move around without raising suspicion. During the attack, several residents were killed, while manyothers were abducted and taken to an unknown destination. Bakatsine noted that the situation has raised concerns amongresidents, as attacks continue to occur in different communities across thestate. “Last night, armed bandits reportedly disguised in women’shijabs attacked Mallamawar Yari village in Gawakuke ward, Rabah LGA, SokotoState. Several residents were killed and many others abducted during theattack. “With attacks continuing across communities in Sokoto State,the question remains; what concrete measures are being taken to halt thegrowing wave of insecurity in the state?,” Bakatsine wrote. Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on theincident at the time of filing this report.
