2027: APC will deliver 10m votes for Tinubu in Southwest – Senate Leader, Bamidele

Opeyemi Bamidele, Leader of the Senate, has revealed thatthe All Progressives Congress has set a target of securing no fewer than 10million votes from the South-West for the re-election of President Bola Tinubuin the 2027 general elections. He made the remarks on Monday in Ado Ekiti during theinauguration of the 57-member governorship campaign council set up to supportthe re-election bid of Biodun Oyebanji. The disclosure was contained in a statement issued on Mondayby Bamidele’s Directorate of Media and Public Affairs. Bamidele, who also serves as Chairman of the Ekiti APC 2026Governorship Election Campaign Council, explained that the party plans to reachthe target through extensive voter mobilisation and increased participation inthe ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise. According to the Senate leader, the June 20 governorshipelection in Ekiti State will serve as a referendum on the performance of theincumbent governor. He also predicted that the poll would be “a walkover” forthe APC, citing what he described as significant accomplishments under theOyebanji administration. “the June 20 election will be a referendum to affirm andconfirm the leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in Ekiti State. “As a party of conviction and vision, we have already set atarget ahead of the 2027 elections. We have designed a mobilisation plan todeliver at least 10 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the sixstates of the South-west alone,” Bamidele said. He called on party leaders and members to step upmobilisation efforts by urging residents to participate in the Continuous VoterRegistration and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards. “With the future elections drawing closer by the day, weneed to mobilise our members, neighbours and relations not just to register asnew voters, but also collect their permanent voter cards so that they canexercise suffrage in our support in the future elections,” he said.
