Nigeria’s food inflation rate rose to 12.12% year-on-year in February 2026, pushing the indicator back into double-digit territory after a sharp drop to single digits in January. Data from the Consumer Price Index (CPI) report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) shows that food inflation increased from 8.89% in January 2026 to 12.12%
