Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Saturday attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) 8th National Convention in Abuja, marking his first participation in the party’s highest gathering since he left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in December 2025. Governor Fubara arrived at Eagle Square, the venue of the convention, where he was warmly received by Rivers State delegates and other contingents from the state. The development underscores Fubara’s full integration into the APC following his formal registration as a party member in December 2025. He had earlier declared himself the “number one member” of the Rivers APC after receiving his membership card. Fubara’s presence at the convention comes amid ongoing political realignments in Rivers State, as he continues to consolidate support within the ruling party at the national level. The two-day national convention, which began on Friday, March 27, 2026, is expected to address key party matters, including leadership and preparations ahead of future elections.
