Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council. A statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani, said the dissolution is intended to create an enabling environment for any member of the council who wishes to contest elective positions in the 2027 general elections. Governor Zulum directed all commissioners to hand over the affairs of their respective ministries to the Permanent Secretaries on or before Friday, April 3, 2026.The governor expressed profound appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication, commitment, and invaluable contributions to the development and service of the people of Borno State. The dissolution aligns with the directive from President Bola Tinubu requiring all political appointees interested in contesting the 2027 elections to resign by March 31, 2026.
