Countries: Lebanon, occupied Palestinian territory Source: UN Children's Fund Please refer to the attached file. Highlights Escalating hostilities in Lebanon have reportedly killed at least 1,318 people, including 125 children, and displaced over 1.1 million people, including more than 390,000 children, overwhelming systems and significantly increasing risks for affected populations. UNICEF is scaling up its emergency response, which has included sustaining access to safe water and sanitation for over 2.6 million people, including 385,000 displaced people, through the provision of fuel and critical repairs to water and wastewater systems. UNICEF’s rapid response mechanism has reached 188,155 people in shelters, on the move, and in hard-to-reach areas with essential items. To reach 1 million people in need, UNICEF requires US$ 48.3 million for its three-month response, but faces a 77 per cent funding gap with only US$ 10.9 million available. Without urgent additional funding, life-saving services for children and families will be disrupted.
