The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has released a country brief for Belarus, highlighting key aspects of food security as of April 2026. The harvest of winter wheat crops is anticipated to commence in July 2026, following favorable sowing conditions in September 2025. The 2025 cereal production is estimated at approximately 8.7 million tonnes, surpassing the five-year average, with significant outputs from wheat, triticale, and barley. Additionally, import requirements for the 2025/26 marketing year are projected to be above average, driven by increased domestic consumption, while prices of wheat flour have risen by about 5 percent compared to the previous year, influenced by seasonal demand.
