The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has released a situation report detailing the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Yemen, which has persisted for over a decade. As of 2026, more than 22 million individuals, including nearly 11 million women and girls, are in need of humanitarian assistance, with over 5.2 million people internally displaced. The report highlights alarming statistics, indicating that 18.3 million people are acutely food insecure, and approximately 662,000 pregnant women require urgent healthcare services, including emergency obstetric care. Despite significant challenges, including funding cuts and operational difficulties, UNFPA has managed to provide emergency relief to over 165,000 people in early 2026, while appealing for US$71.9 million to sustain critical health services and prevent gender-based violence in the region.
