The 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), commenced on April 17 and involved approximately 2.2 million candidates across 966 accredited Computer Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide. During the examination period, several candidates experienced technical glitches and shutdowns at various centres, which disrupted the testing process. Additionally, reports emerged of the abduction of some candidates, raising concerns about security measures in place during the examination. JAMB officials have acknowledged the challenges faced and are working to address the issues encountered during the exam.
