Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has initiated a comprehensive reform agenda within the Nigeria Police Force to enhance accountability and oversight while tackling persistent misconduct issues. Since taking office on February 24, 2026, Disu has prioritized the restructuring of internal monitoring systems, notably the Complaint Response Unit and the Independent X-Squad, to ensure more effective oversight of police conduct. These reforms are part of a broader strategy to restore public trust in the police and improve the overall integrity of the force.
